I’ll be adding my reviews here soon. I will say that there are some nice and some not so nice hotels and motels near Zion N.P. There are some Bed and Breakfasts as well which I’ll try and review. In general expect to pay too much for rooms, food, beer, and everything else near the park. Hurricane is your nearest place for reasonable prices and groceries. Those on a budget should camp inside the park which I have done and it’s very nice or outside the park along a stream. We do not have bears here so there is little to worry about.
The only thing I must warn you about if car camping is sand. If you do not have all wheel drive be very careful as your car can dig in very easily and pulling you out is no fun especially if your girlfriend is watching as one of our buff macho guys smirks at your predicament. If you are going to car camp bring your own tow strap and shovel. Be ready to get dirty, it’s bad form to expect a good Samaritan to get dirty while doing you a favor. TIP him or HER! I once offered all the money in my wallet, I was very grateful that day.
